Sooner or later even the shovel knows better

What a short, normal, staying it’s been.

It’s the hardest thing to write.  None of this ‘I went fishing and it was good’ Hemingway stuff either, but the writing not one true sentence that makes all literature honest.

I said honest, not true, Tatie.

Having recently been called out by a respected professor friend of mine, I am going to make a concerted effort to write as a contributor to the larger world instead of only charading as a term-paper hitman.  Perhaps it’s getting time to retire my trickster hat and start Spike Leeing the Right Thing.

Here’s Kaki King musicianing something along this tune:

It’s not an easy thing to do right, and that’s probably why it’s so valued/valuable.  But damnit, sometimes doing wrong can feel so sublime, like this song…  However, it leaves you wanting something more, something better, and that’s where I now find myself.

Sooner or later even the shovel knows better.
